| The internationally renowned,
picturesque decking of Banrock Station’s Wine and Wetland Centre is
the official launch venue for the 2008 Riverland Renaissance
celebrations on Friday evening, 26th of September. Famed local chef and head of Banrock Station’s kitchen, Peter Kent, will serve a fantastic menu of Mediterranean inspired local delights, and performers Studio Flamenco will charm diners with traditional Spanish guitar and flamenco dance. Old world, Spanish-inspired waiters will float amongst the communal dining and olive trees to serve Banrock Station’s Montepulciano, Tempranillo, Albarino and Moscato, all Mediterranean varietals, with Kent’s array of Tapas platters. “Our region embraces Riverland Renaissance each year, as it gives us the opportunity to show off our incredible produce and highlight the cultural diversity of this region in a creative way.” Peter said. Peter Kent’s 2008 menu consists of large selection of local delights including Murray River Salt Cod, durif-basted aged Waikerie beef with hollandaise, goujons of Waikerie mulloway and lime aioli, caramelised fennel and onion crostini with goats cheese, Spanish olives wrapped with white anchovies, blood-lime dukkah and polenta crusted oysters with native aniseed and twice-baked Loxton Pork with fennel and rosemary. “It’s brilliant teaming up with local farmers and growers and then matching their gourmet produce with our extensive range of fine wines” said Peter.
